HEARTBROKEN RAILA ODINGA IN DEEP MOURNING.

ODM leader Raila Odinga paid a glowing tribute to the late Bishop John Maina Kairu, who died last month.

The former Prime Minister, who was in Nyandarua on Saturday, November 6, said he received the news of Kairu’s passing with great shock.

Addressing rallies in different parts of the county, the AU High Representative on Roads and Infrastarure revealed that he had communicated with the man of the cloth days before he passed away.

“I came here with great sorrow. Bishop Kairu has invited me to his church for special prayers. He was not tribal and that’s why he wanted me to attend a service at his church. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.

Kairu was the founder of Jesus Revival Centre Ministries. He reportedly died of Covid-19.

Meanwhile, the opposition leader implored the residents to rally behind his presidential bid.

He said his administration would foster national unity and take development to every corner of the country.

“In 2022 we are going to have the third and final liberation. This liberation is all about economic empowerment for the youth and women. We must actualise the dreams of our founding fathers,” he said.

The former Premier added that he will streamline the education and health sectors.

“Our children must go to school regardless of if the parents have money or not. When they finish their tertiary education, my government will ensure they get dignified jobs.

“We will also ensure that every Kenyan can access affordable and quality healthcare,” he said.

Raila also took a dig at Deputy President William Ruto’s ‘Hustler Movement’, saying it was promoting poverty among young Kenyans.

“Our youth should not push wheelbarrows, they need good jobs,” he said.
