DP RUTO CLASH WITH IRUNGU KANG’ATA

Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday turned down a Ksh.40,000 donation by Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata during a fundraising event in the county.

According to Ruto, the Senator should have pledged a sum worthy of the status he seeks in his quest to vie for the Murang’a gubernatorial seat in next year’s General Elections.

The DP then proceeded to ask Kang’ata to add Ksh.60, 000 to his initial contribution and make it Ksh.100,000, to which the Senator obliged.

“Unataka governor? Ksh.40,000 haitoshi governor. Enda ulete hiyo ingine. Ksh.40,000 haiwezi governor. Tafuta pesa ama namna gani? Si wewe ndio umeamua hiyo maneno?” The DP posed.

He then joked that he could lend Senator Kang’ata the extra Ksh.60,000, in case he was running short, and claim it down the road.

“Ama kama umeishiwa naweza kuongeza wewe alafu nikudai mbele. Si ni namna hiyo. Sawa pigieni mheshimiwa makofi ametoa elfu mia moja,” the Deputy President said.
