FIGHT BREAKS AT UDA FEW MINUTES AFTER ANNE WAIGURU JOINED THE PARTY

Kirinyaga women rep Purity Ngirici’s ambitions to become the next governor of Kirinyaga under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has been put to the test.

This is after her fierce rival in the gubernatorial race, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, jumped the ship from Jubilee Party to UDA. Waiguru’s move is likely to complicate Ngirici’s chances of clinching UDA’s party ticket in the nominations.

Ngirici had previously dared Waiguru to join UDA to compete with her in the party’s nominations. The first-time lawmaker, however, dared to quit UDA should the party hand Waiguru the party’s nomination on a silver platter.

Ngirici noted that she is not tied to UDA as a goat and can leave anytime she feels she is not treated fairly.

She who is determined to unseat Waiguru noted that she is not afraid to compete with the governor in any political arena.

“I am not afraid of any possible competition from Waiguru, who is still listening to what the ground,” Ngirici said.

With the entrance of Waiguru to UDA it is know be interesting to see how the party manages these two powerful politicians.

Deputy President William Ruto while speaking in the Coast, last week, insisted that he will ensure that the nomination process for UDA candidates are free and fair.

Ruto said that he is ready to suspend any candidate who intended to influence the outcome of the nominations through violence.
