WHY WHATSAPP, FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM SHUT DOWN.

Looks like all the popular social media apps WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger are all down.

Users from different parts of the world are reporting not being able to access the apps on Monday evening.

”Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can,” an error message on the Facebook website said.

WhatsApp and Instagram apps continued to work, but users are unable to send messages or even share a WhatsApp status.

According to DownDetector, an online platform that provides users with real-time information about the status of various websites and services, the issues started at around 18:44 EAT.

Facebook has not issued an official update about the outage.

WhatsApp confirmed the outage in a tweet saying working to get things back to normal
”We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience” it said.
