MARTHA KARUA ATTACKED

The Women Representative for Laikipia, Cate Waruguru has called out Martha Karua, together with other Mt Kenya leaders, to stop their daily anti-Ruto sentiments and openly campaign for ODM party leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking on Friday, September 24, Waruguru urged the NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua, The Service Party leader Mwangi Kiunjuri and Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo to make up their minds.

She asked them to stop whining daily about Deputy President William Ruto, claiming that he is forcing them and others to fold their parties to join United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Waruguru said there are only two serious presidential front runners for the 2022 General Election and if Karua and others are disgruntled with Ruto, they should join hands with Raila and spare people daily complaints.

The Laikipia Women Representative faulted a section of Mt Kenya leaders for lying that they are being compelled to merge their parties, saying that the constitution is very clear about freedom of forming or joining political parties.

“The constitution protects our parties. It doesn’t matter whether it is big or small. Everybody is entitled to forming or joining any party,” Waruguru noted.

Waruguru openly told the Mt Kenya leaders that ‘it is a lie from the devil’ for them to tell people that they are afraid that they are being forced to break their parties.

“I am calling upon my sister Martha Karua, Mwangi Kiunjuri and the others to stop telling us that you are being compelled to dissolve your political parties,” she remarked.

She went ahead and asked Karua that if she claims she is being pushed to fold her party, she should openly let the people know who is telling them to dissolve their parties.

She has urged the Mt Kenya leaders, under the leadership of Karua, to go to the people directly and win them over, instead of regular boardroom meetings with the aim of forcing people to vote for a particular candidate.

This move, Waruguru says, has brought disunity in the mountain, since everyone is heading in a different direction.

“If you want the mountain to have a narrative that will be sustainable, let’s all come together and agree on one thing,” Waruguru urged the leaders.

Earlier, Karua had informed the public that she will not support Ruto or be his running mate but did not declare who will have her support in 2022.

Waruguru has told the Mt Kenya leaders who intend to be presidents that if they continue being unstrategic, Ruto will win the presidency and they will have no one to blame.
