LIST OF SAFARICOM SERVICES THAT WILL BE UNAVAILABLE.

Safaricom PLC has announced a scheduled upgrade to its services that will result in unavailability of some services from Saturday, August 21, 10pm to Sunday, August 22, 8am.

In a notice, the giant telecommunications company stated that a few services including all products purchases, balance enquiry, Okoa Jahazi, Tunukiwa, all Bonga Points services, postpaid payment, and home fibre payment will remain unavailable for 10 hours.

Other services such as calls, data, M-Pesa, and sms will remain available during that period.

The telco explained that maintenance activity was meant to cause least possible inconvenience to their customers as it has been scheduled to take place at night.

Safaricom further apologised to its customers for any inconvenience that will result from the maintenance schedule.

The giant telco, has introduced new features over time with the sole aim of improving services to millions of its subscribers.
 
In June 2021, Safaricom launched the M-Pesa app, a user friendly mini-application that allows users to transact while on offline mode. The new Application is known as the  M-PESA Super App. 

They also launched M-PESA for Business App that allows users to make various transactions including deliveries, ticket booking, shopping, licenses applications, insurance among others.

Earlier on in March 2021, Safaricom had announced the launch of trials for the 5G technology for its customers – becoming the first operator in East Africa to launch the 5G technology.

The 5G technology was projected to enable mobile subscribers to enjoy faster internet and browsing speed operating at more efficient data rates.
