NEWS ANCHOR BEN KITILI QUITS KTN

Top news anchor Ben Kitili has quit Standard Media Group‘s KTN. The news anchor who has gained fame as the face of prime time news on KTN will be joining KTN’s rival NTV.

This comes after Ben Kitili landed a top deal at NTV, where he will become the new NTV News Editor. He has left KTN after 8 years. He resigned on Tuesday, July 27.

At NTV, reports say that Kitili will be charged guiding reporters and anchors as well as helping the station’s news coverage. “He will be helping the managing editor as well as anchor news and host shows,” a source was quoted by a local news outlet.

At KTN, Kitili has been hosting the political show known as Inside Politics every Sunday from 11 am to 1 pm. In addition, he has been anchoring prime time news on Tuesday under the tagline Newsline. Although it was not immediately clear how much salary and benefits Kitili had been given by Nation Media Group, the pay is expectedly going to be way above six figures.

It now remains to be seen if Kitili will be able to redeem the dwindling fortunes of NTV, which was once Kenya’s top television station, a position that is currently dominated by Royal Media Group’s Citizen Tv.
