MAN KILLS GIRLFRIEND AT HIS NEW BOYFRIEND’S HOUSE

Police are investigating a love triangle that led to death of a 21-year-old lady in Matuu Town, Yatta sub-County of Machakos County.

The lady died after allegedly being stabbed several times with a kitchen knife on the stomach by her ex-boyfriend inside her current lover’s rented house.

Confirming the incident, Yatta Sub-county head of the Criminal Investigations Department, Bernard Rono, the young lady was happily seated with her boyfriend in his house when the door was knocked.

The deceased answered the call at the door only to encounter her former boyfriend aged 24.

Speaking to a local media Rono said, “the young man found out that his former lover had a new boyfriend and that she was together with him in a rented house in Matuu town.”

An argument erupted where the suspect is said to have grabbed a sharp kitchen knife on the table and stabbed the deceased on the stomach several times.

The deceased ran out of the house crying for help bleeding heavily from the stabbed wounds and fell down outside the rentals leaving behind the two men fighting each other.

When the assailant saw that he was overpowered, he ran away from the house straight to Matuu police station to report a case of assault.

“The suspect ran to our station with allegations that he was assaulted by people he knew. But police demanded of him to lead them to the scene of confrontation, where officers found out that he was the attacker,” DCI Rono explained.

Rono further stated that the invader might have travelled from Kitui County where he is said to be working as a contractor.

“The suspect dealt in construction at Kanyoonyoo, Kitui County and we suspect he travelled specifically to Matuu for that mission,” Rono said.

The lady at the centre of the love triangle died of excessive bleeding and police have moved her body to Matuu Level 4 hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem.

Police in Yatta detained the suspect at Matuu police station for further questioning before charging him at Kithimani law court on Wednesday, June 30.
