K24 ROBS CITIZEN TV AGAIN

Mediamax Limited which owns K24 TV among other brands has tapped Viusasa Head of News Chrisphine Magak to lead its editorial team.

Highly placed sources in the know intimated to Kenyans.co.ke that Magak will be in charge of Mediamax’s digital platforms and help streamline its digital products.

Chrisphine will also lead the revamping of the news websites associated with Mediamax.

While working at Royal Media Services, he was instrumental in setting up the Viusasa news team. Previously the Citizen TV product was mainly focused on video content.

Before Royal Media Services,  Chrisphine worked at Opera News, Standard Media Group and other sports websites.

He will be filling the position held by former Digital Content Manager Joel Muinde who left Mediamax in April for the NGO world.

Muinde joined the World Wide Fund for Nature, an international NGO founded in 1961 that works in the field of wilderness preservation and the reduction of human impact on the environment.

Muinde’s deputy Brian Okoth left Mediamax for Standard Media Group as its News and Current Affairs Editor for digital platforms.

All three journalists have worked for Royal Media Services at one point in their lives.

Other staff changes that happened recently include a reshuffle at Nation Media Group where Joseph Warungu was appointed the managing editor of the media house’s broadcast division.

Kenyans.co.ke also learned that Fridah Mwaka and Lofti Matambo and are expected to co-host the 7 pm bulletins at NTV but it is not yet clear on which days they will be hosting.

The duo is expected to start working on the first week of May 2021.
