MURKOMEN ISSUES STRONG WARNING TO PRESIDENT UHURU.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Sunday, April 11 warned President Uhuru Kenyatta against shortchanging Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga.

The senator who was commenting on the ongoing political formation ahead of the 2022 general election said that there is no one who knows the effect of being hoodwinked than Uhuru. 

“It will be a mistake of monumental proportion for Uhuru Kenyatta to shortchange Raila Odinga when he knows that Daniel Arap Moi shortchanged Him (Tinga) for his (Uhuru’s) sake. 

Murkomen further told the president that he must stand by his decision through the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and support Raila in the next general elections. 

The senator also said that no one should worry about them – hustlers – because they have already made plans of their own.

Former member of parliament for Mukurweini Kabando Wa Kabando affirmed the senator’s message to President Uhuru. 

Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi while separately sharing his opinion on the ongoing political alliances argued that there is a lot of miscalculation on President Uhuru’s succession plans. 

According to Ahmednasir, Uhuru’s political strategist appear to have overdone his – Uhuru – influence as a politician and a state leader. 

“First, Uhuru and his handlers overexaggerate his influence, power and reach. Second, Uhuru and his handlers deliberately underestimate the political strength, influence and reach of both DP Ruto and Hon. Raila,” Ahmednasir explained. 

Murkomen’s warning to Uhuru comes even as reports that the former prime minister is in talks with DP Wiliam Ruto over an alliance continue to elicit debate in the country. 

ODM deputy part leader Wycliffe recently met the DP and confirmed that Raila was well aware of their meeting. Oparanya confirmed that Ruto had asked him whether they (ODM) could consider working with him. 

“It was a chance meeting. Being a politician, the DP asked if we can work together and I told him that such a decision had to be made by the party,” the Kakamega governor said after the meeting.
