Kenyans have taken to social media to eulogize the businessman and comfort his family during this time of mourning.

“I remember his words when I was a school principal “A team never loses but the captain does” Ayaan and family may Allah grant you Sabr and replace your lose with something of Kheyr,” Fatuma Ali Saman wrote on Twitter.

“May Allah be pleased with Mzee Yasin. Kilimanjaro is my favourite restaurant,” Bilal wrote.

In 2019, Mzee Jama’s son was one of the Kenyans who were stranded inside Dusit during the terror attack . He was lucky when he was able to get out alive in the attack that claimed 22 lives.
The deceased urged Kenyans to not label Islam as a terrorist group because of the al-shaabab.

“Islam does not condone terrorism. I am a Kenyan Somali and we have lost our beloved ones just like other Kenyans. A terrorist does not have a religion, colour and tribe. Terrorists do not kill selectively, they hate all of us,” he said at the time

The powerful words he said during that time brought Kenyans together during the grieving time.

His burial is set for Saturday, April 3 at the Langata cemetery. The burial will take place after the Dhuhur prayers.
