ETHIOPIA TO MAKE ARTIFICIAL RAINFALL

Ethiopian prime minister Abiy Ahmed has revealed a plan by the Eastern African country to launch artificial rains to curb the devastating effects of drought in dry areas.

In a statement released on his official Twitter handle on Tuesday, March 23, Ahmed said Ethiopia is experimenting on cloud seeding technologies as the demand for food rises amid the increasing population.

“Over the past few weeks we have been experimenting with cloud seeding technologies and will officially launch soon, to augment rainfall. As our population increases and demands on land increase, such techniques will make dry places more livable and productive,” the PM said.
