GOVERNOR SAVES 26 WOMEN FROM JAIL.

Promient governor of Kajiando county Ole Lenku has become the savior of women traders who traveled to Tanzania to market their ware as they usually do.

Maasai women traveled to Tanzania few days ago to sell their ware, that is when they were arrested by Tanzania security and accused of being in the country illegally. They were ordered to pay 1 million shillings each or serve a jail term of one year.

When the governor flew to rescue them, they had already stayed in jail for four days. He negotiated with the security and judiciary official and was able to get the traders out.

Through a local media, one of the women revealed that they haven’t eaten or drunk anything since the arrest.

The County governor revealed that this is not the first time Tanzanian government have done such. The governor urged CS of Foreign Affairs and the security agencies of both countries to quickly find a solution to what can be termed as an harassment of Kenyan women traders.
