PROPERTIES OWNED BY PRESIDENT UHURU AND HIS FAMILY

Uhuru Kenyatta is one of the richest Presidents in the whole world with his family one of the richest families in Africa. From being a meter reader and working his way up, Jomo Kenyatta became one of the richest Kenyans. Since his demise in 1978, the family has prudently continued to invest multiplying the inheritance left behind by the first president of Kenya.

The family has invested in almost every tenet of the Kenyan economy. Notable investments are in Agriculture, Real Estate and Service Industry.

Uhuru Kenyatta and his family own Brookside Dairy Ltd, the largest milk processing company in East Africa. The company has been buying out most of its competitors in Kenya almost becoming a monopoly in the milk industry.

Kenyatta family owns a sizeable stake in NCBA Bank. With Safaricom signing deals with the bank like provision of Fuliza and Mshwari loans, the bank has rose to become the third most valuable bank in Kenya.

The family also owns Heritage Group of Hotels managing over seven star hotels notably Voyager Beach Resort in Mombasa.

Uhuru has been criticized in the past due to his vast control of the media industry. The family and Moi family has greatly invested in the media industry. Recently, the family bought MediaMax Holdings Company which owns at least eight media channels with K24 being its most popular brand.

The family has also invested in education sector owning Peponi School. Kenyatta family has also invested in manufacturing industry with ownership of Beta HealthCare and Timsales Holdings,.

Mzee Jomo Kenyatta left around 500,000 acres of land. The land is mostly in prime areas of the country in Taveta, Kwale, Rift Valley and Mt Kenya.

The array of investments and assets make Kenyatta family one of the wealthiest families in the country.
