RAILA SPEAKS AFTER BEING HOSPITALISED.

Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga has broken his silence speaking for the first time since being admitted at the Nairobi hospital yesterday.

Taking to the social media on his official Twitter handle, the former premier said that he is feeling better and was keenly following the doctor’s advice.

The AU special envoy also took time to thank Kenyans and followers for their rivers of messages that poured in yesterday and thereafter.

“Wakenya wenzangu, Thank you for the overwhelming messages of goodwill. I’m feeling much much better now and following the doctor’s orders. Asanteni!” Wrote Raila Odinga.

According to his personal Doctor David Olunya, Odinga checked in at the facility on March 9th, 2021, for routine check-ups and is currently doing well and in good spirits.

“ Hon. Odinga walked in for routine medical tests at the Nairobi Hospital on the 9 th of March 2021 after feeling some fatigue. He has had a rigorous campaign and needed to have some checkups. This was carried out successfully. He is still undergoing some further investigations with a team of doctors and has been advised to take a rest ,” read Dr. Olunya’s statement.

The official opposition leader was admitted to the Nairobi hospital after complaining of fatigue and general body aches.

Yesterday, his aid Dennis Onyango said that the AU special envoy had been advised to go on isolation and bed rest following the doctor’s advice.

“He checked in for a complete series of tests because he has been on a countrywide tour from Turkana to Narok to Busia and Coast region without rest.

“He says he feels okay, but the doctors cautioned that some of the symptoms need to be monitored. The doctors have advised that he takes complete rest as they continue to run tests.,” Mr. Onyango stated.
