WITHOUT HANDSHAKE BABU OWINO WOULD HAVE STONED ME

President Uhuru Kenyatta has said he and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino are in good terms thanks to the 2018 handshake with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Uhuru said had it not been for the working relationship he forged with Raila that was made public at the steps of Harambee House, the country would still be in political chaos.

Speaking when he opened Soweto Level Two Hospital in Kayole on Friday, February 19, Uhuru reflected on his relationship with Babu who allegedly insulted him in the heat of 2017 elections

The head of state noted had it not been for the handshake that saw Jubilee Party and ODM work together to end dissent, Babu would have organised goons to disrupt his rally or even stone him.

“We want us to walk together and that is the essence of handshake. Were it not for handshake, Babu Owino who is sitting here today would be stoning me. He would be organising these youths to attack and stone my motorcade. Is there any mistake in working together?” he asked the crowd.
