THIEVES COOK AND EAT MEAT BEFORE STEALING.

Detectives from Nyamira Directorate of Criminal Investigations are investigating a robbery with violence in Nyamira sub-county.

The victim who was identified as Stephen Gichana told the police that he was waylaid by a group of eight robbers moments after he arrived at his home late on Tuesday, January 5, evening.

In a police report filed at Nyamira Police Station, the victim said he had stopped at the gate waiting for his son to open so he could drive in when the suspects emerged from the darkness.

The thieves who wore jungle jackets similar to that of that police officers, hit him on the head with a blunt object while directing him to open the gate.

Gichana obeyed the orders and allowed the eight robbers into his compound.

Inside the compound at around 8pm on the fateful night, the thugs tied Gichana, his wife Kemunto and son Elias before they ransacked the entire house while picking valuable items.

The robbers also walked into the kitchen, grabbed some meat from the fridge which they cooked and ate with ugali.

Once they completed a near two-hour mission, the robbers thanked their victims for cooperating well during the raid before they left.

Gichana said the family lost two Samsung phones  valued at KSh 50,000, another Oppo phone which goes for KSh 20,000 and a laptop valued at KSh 70,000.
