UNKNOWN DETAILS OF THE MURDER OF FOUR FAMILY MEMBERS EMERGES

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are trying to piece together information to establish what could have led to the murder of four family members and their gardener.

Preliminary investigations show that Njoroge Warunge, an American-based nurse Njoroge Warunge was stabbed 34 times after his family members had been killed.

Sleuths indicated that there was a trail of blood which they assumed was from the sitting room to the upstairs rooms.

Warunge is suspected to have jumped from the balcony of the house to escape but the killers, unfortunately, caught up with him.

He is suspected to have been hit with a blunt object, stabbed, before his throat was slit.

Kiambu County Commissioner Wilson Wanyanga presumed that the killers could have used someone close to the family to access the compound.

“The house is well fenced with a perimeter wall and razor wire and there was no sign the killers struggled to gain entry by breaking in. There is no doubt that the killers used someone close to the family to gain access to the house.”

In addition, the killers are said to have disabled the alarm, bearing in mind that the neighbours did not hear any commotion.

Detectives are trying to understand whether the killings could have been led by a land transaction gone wrong.

Four years ago, Warunga’s brother Allan Njiire was shot and injured by unknown assailants. Following the incident, Njiire now walks with a limp.

In 2017, another brother of the deceased, Kenneth Mwangi, was hit with a blunt object by unknown people and died instantly.
