AL-SHABAAB ATTACKS AMBULANCE FERRYING WOMAN IN LABOUR

Al-Shabab militants have attacked an ambulance in Elwak, Mandera county killing one person on the spot.

The militants laid ambush on the vehicle which was ferrying an expectant woman who was in labour to the Elwak hospital to deliver.

According to reports, the extremists sprayed bullets on the vehicle which burst into flames and killing the woman’s husband on the spot.

The woman later delivered a baby boy. Other occupants of the ill-fated vehicle including the nurse and a driver sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Elwak hospital.

The expectant lady is reported to have later delivered a bouncing baby boy.
