SENATORS BRIBED 2 MILLION SHILLINGS

Impeached Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has accused his former colleagues in the senate for throwing him under the bus after alleging that they were each paid 2 million shillings to impeach him.

This is the first time Sonko has reacted to his Thursday night impeachment after 27 senators voted Yes to the charges leveled against him.

While decrying his ouster from the top sit in the capital, a defiant Sonko says that the people who elected him have not impeached him yet.

That could be a signal yet that his political stint in Nairobi is far from over.

“I have been allegedly impeached by a few Senators, but I have not been impeached by the people of Nairobi and Kenyans at large, God has not impeached me as well and I know He has better plans for me.

I have faith in God. I will walk with Him to the end of this journey.” Sonko further wrote.

After Sonko’s impeachment, Nairobi County Speaker Benson Mutura is set to be sworn in as the acting governor for a period of 60 days pending a by election.
