Veteran journalist dies in grissly road accident

A veteran radio producer for KBC, Beatrice Kevogo, has died after being involved in a road accident in Rongo town, Migori County.

According to a report by KBC, the veteran radio producer passed away on Tuesday, December 15 after her car collided head-on with a truck near Rongo town.

Her 31-year-old son, Presley Sagala, told the police that the journalist was travelling to Hamisi from Migori to pick her elderly mother who was to travel to Kitale.

Rongo Sub County Police Commander Peter Okiring while confirming the incident stated that the incident occurred at 11am.

Witnesses also claimed that the truck was over-speeding when the accident occurred.

The bodies were taken to Rosewood Hospital mortuary in Rongo.

Kevogo was a producer of religious programmes at KBC including ‘Mwamba wa Baraka’ and ‘Safari ya Bibilia’.
