TEACHER FORCED TO ROAST MAIZE IN STREETS.

The Corona pandemic has greatly challenged many. People have lost their jobs as others are suffering a huge amount of pay cut.

On Monday, August 31st, Ugandan journalist Atulinda Allan shared a story of a teacher who lost her job only to be a vendor.

A Ugandan teacher, Harriet decided to become a vendor after losing her monthly income.

The single mother was unable to go back to her rural home as it was on the side of the border. And it was closed.

After three months, the 27 year old mother has now received assistance from good Samaritans.

Harriet started with mangoes but when the fruit’s season was over, she switched to selling maize in the streets with the help of other vendors who felt sorry for her having lost her teaching job.

The business woman had to deal with a lot of challenges; huge transportation charges and also the city authorities.

Her story touched a lot of people and they offered to help.

Sharing on his Facebook page, Allan the journalist has revealed he had received huge donation from people.

“Dear kids, in my line of work, i have filmed many sad and heartbreaking stories. Yesterday i shared this story of Harriet, a teacher who now roasts and sells maize on Kampala streets. when i shared it, the love the twitter world showed me overwhelmed my soul.

Over 1.000 retweet and over 2000 likes and 150+ responses and messages later, her Mobile Money account has some digits in 6 zeros

i urge you hence, there is so much grace in staying soft, there is so much beauty in being kind, there is so much tenderness in showing love and there is so much peace in seeing some one smile.

Stay true.

yours truly
