SONKO BEING KICKED OUT

Nairobi MCAs have begun a fresh process of removing from office beleaguered Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

This is after 86 MCAs appended their signatures on a notice of impeachment motion, against a threshold of 42 signatures needed, paving way for a second attempt at impeaching the governor.

Moving the motion, Minority Leader Michael Ogada, put forward a number of grounds for the removal of Mr Sonko from office key among them gross violation of the Constitution and abuse of office.

Sonko survived the first motion by selling out Nairobi County to the National Government.

Later he would say that he was drunk when signing the papers and that he wants to rescind the decision.

It will be interesting to see how Sonko will circumnavigate this latest hurdle considering his frictious relationship with National Government and Nairobi Metropolitan Services.
