TOUGH TALKING MATIANG’I ON THE NEWS AGAIN

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has decided again to be the moral cop of the society since no one else seems willing to step up. An angry Matiang’i asked parents to instill ethics to their children. This follows the worrying trend of immorality among the teens.

Speaking on Monday during an interview on local television station a visibly furious Matiang’i blamed the rising cases of teen indiscipline solely on the parents and guardians. There has been numerous cases of youths taking alcohol and engaging in indecent activities. Matiang’i sternly told the parents not at one time to shift parenting responsibility to the society.

“The level of parental responsibilty in our country is very low. let us not pretend… Society will not raise your children for you.

“The government will not raise your children for you either. It is upon us to make our contribution and support institutions that are creating frameworks for supporting law and order in the country,” he said.

Matiang’i assured the public that his ministry is investigating the case where 44 children were arrested in a party engaging in immoral behaviour. He hinted on the progress of the case saying this was a well coordinated network being run by adults preying on teens.

The cabinet secretary said this case will not be swept under the rug. Those who will be found responsible will be charged in a court of law.

Matiang’i will be remembered for bringing sanity in our schools especially about strikes and exam irregularities. If there is a group of individuals or cartel preying on our youths, our safe bet is on Matiang’i. They will be found and crushed.

What started as an immoral party by 44 teenagers in Mountain View might end unravelling the extent of rot in our society.
