Lolani Kalu joins a long list of journalists who are living in abject poverty few years after losing their job. Lolani Kalu was retrenched from Nation Media Group.

Kenyans were unable to understand why a celebrated journalist could be living in such a sorry state. In explanation, Lolani Kalu said he was conned millions soon after his retrenchment. The duping seriously affected his financial stability.
