Atwoli’s message to Ruto

Atwoli has been on the news again with not so kind words to his political foes. The vocal billionaire COTU boss has told the country to prepare for Raila’s presidency in 2022. It is not the first time for Atwoli to throw his weight behind the ODM leader but this comes a day after Murathe said Raila will be endorsed by both Jubilee and ODM.

“It is only Raila Amollo Odinga who can bring this country together. He has created big departure from corruption, he has fought for this country, he is now an old person, he will be caring and he is a man who cannot apply political revenge. He will fight to bring Kenya together. I didn’t imagine that that would come of our brother Murathe. I think he has widely consulted and I want to support and endorse that proposal.”

Murathe speaking to a local television channel said, “We think it’s time Kenyans rewarded the years of struggle of Raila Amollo Odinga. They owe it to him. It’s like Mandela, and 2022 will be a Mandela Moment. And we would also like to tell him (Raila) to be a transitional president who will then nurture the young generation to take over in 2027.”

Speaking about the recent agreement the ruling party made with Wiper, Murathe hinted that Kalonzo had been duped once again by saying, “Untill he (Kalonzo) moves from the Nasa coalition, what we are doing is co-operating. Just like we are co-operating with ODM. I don’t know what the arrangement is on the Nasa side but if you ask me I would like him (Kalonzo) to also let Raila run.”
