The National Assembly Education Committee has called on the Ministry of Education to establish clear guidelines on student discipline, warning that gaps in the current legal framework could undermine school management and expose teachers and learners to danger. The committee, chaired by Tinderet MP Julius Melly, raised concerns over provisions in the Basic Education Bill, 2026, arguing that the proposed law does not adequately address disciplinary measures for learners involved in serious misconduct.
