Within moments, a vehicle suddenly flies into the scene, leaving the people caught off guard.
The shoeshiner appears to notice the approaching car too late to react. The vehicle knocks him down alongside the motorbike rider, who was still attempting to park.
The footage further shows that the car had hit another vehicle, which comes to a halt at the scene following the collision.
The sudden nature of the accident has left the scene looking disturbing, as those involved had been engaged in their normal activities moments before the crash.
According to reports, the accident happened earlier today in Murang’a town, near Kimuti-ini Kia Manyoni.
It has not yet been established what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle and ram into the people beside the road.
The video has once again raised concerns about road safety in Kenya, where accidents continue to claim lives and leave many people injured.
Road users, including pedestrians, motorcyclists and motorists, remain exposed to dangers on busy roads. People working or conducting business along roadsides are also at risk when vehicles lose control or collisions occur.
Motorcyclists and pedestrians are also urged to remain vigilant, especially when operating or walking near busy roads.
